End of year Blog

I thought I would wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

This being the slow time of the year gives me time to catch up office work and things.

Been doing more of the HUD 203K loan inspections. The work is interesting and never the same. I may explore more into this little known market.

Our winter has arrived. 70 degrees one day, 30 the next. That's the Hill Country.

Summer Blog

Hello E-Tech users. I often wonder if anyone really reads these Blogs. I'm told adding or changing things on your web-site makes the internet "spiders" notice and moves your towards the top of the search listings. Ya, I don't see no "spiders" either:.

2016 has been an interesting time. Spring was off a bit, it rained and rained and rained. Summer has been crazy with people calling for inspections at all days and times. Now, school is starting and there usually is a slow down.

Mid-Summer Blog

I thought I would do a quick blog to let all know the latest.

The Heat is ON. Not the furnace, the outside temps. 100 degree days are here with 105-110 heat index. ALL inspections will be done starting in the morning, till the heat breaks. Normally mid September.

Been busy.  I have all next week booked up. Very thankful.

Master Progress. 997 !  Should have my 1,000 required next week. Then I can submit for the application. May take a bit of paperwork. No biggie.

I've planned a vacation the first week of October.

Angie's List

The blog of the day is that I am now a member of Angie's List. All client reviews will now be asked to submit them through Angie's List. This will provide un-bias screened reviews . Being proud  to say we are one of the best Inspection companies in the Hill Country, I welcome all reviews. I will also be able to offer a 40% discount off a 1 year membership to any client who submits a review through Angie's List. That makes the cost around $6.

Safety Blog

Here is a Gas Safety Tip.

Everyone knows that if you smell gas you should get out of the home.

But did you know these important additional tips;

1.  Never re-enter the home. Just opening the door may allow air to enter and feed the fuel.

2.  When leaving, never operate ANY device. Do not turn off lights, use cell a phone, don't turn the TV off, don't sneeze, nothing. Get out.

I hope know one encounters this situation, but be smart and be safe.

Fall Blog

I had the day off to do some home projects, so I thought I would Blog a bit.

2015 has been a good year. I was busy most the summer and did miss a few because I got backed up a bit. I was thinking about hiring another Inspector, but now with the slow season here and the market changing I have backed off on that for now.

War on the Wasps

Inspector are use to getting insect bites and stings at times, it's just part of the job. But recently I have been stung by a Red Wasp and a nest of Yellow Jackets.

The Red wasp stung big time and it left a red welt about the size of a grapefruit. It took a week to heal.

Yesterday was the Yellow Jacket attack. I was stung 3 places on my face and neck. Now my eye is 1/2 swelled shut and my neck swelled up.

I use to think "leave them alone and they won't bother you".

New Water Heater standards

Today I thought I would blog a bit about the new Water Heater regulations that went into effect on April 16th, 2015.

The Government know all's have changed the regulation on the efficiency for water heaters. Water Heater installed after the April 16th mandate now will have more insulation. This will increase the size over the existing models. Existing Water Heaters will not have to be changed out but when you need a replacement it will have to be one of the new type.
