2018's Blog

Hello to 2018.

For the most part my 2017 grew to a point where I could not help all the people who called. Taking in mind that I now do mostly only one inspection per day, plan around bad weather and a guy's got to take some time off to fish.

I joined NACHI and was quailfied for the Professional Level membership.

2017 was also the year of technoligy failures and upgrades. My computor and phone had to be repalced. Dead flashlights and tools & flat tires piled on.

The last two months were a disaster as my Mom was badly injured in a car wreck and I had to close shop and go up to Colorado and help care for my Mom. The missed time and expenses turned a great year into an ok year.

Now it's 2018 and I have new technoligy and are gearing up for the season. My health also is better and I've been doing alot of walking on the river.

I've been thinking about buying a drone. This would be nice on the roofs that are too tall or steep. They are a little pricy so I would need some fee upgrade to cover the expense.

2018 will also challangeing. Many of my long time real estate clients have either retired, moved, taking other jobs or become brokers who now don't sell much. I may have to market some this year.

The HUD work I do helps pay the bills but it's hard work and long drives. Nothing like inspecting a home in 20 degree weather when the home has no heat. Well, getting into attic's when it's over 100 degrees is not fun either.

Here hoping 2018 will be a great year for me and you.
